Keys to Happiness: An August Moon Meditation Puzzle

Created for a dedicated puzzler, this artwork began with a prepared and painted canvas and a collection of once important keys from the past. Each key was decorated and transformed with color, gold leaf, copper leaf, and imagination to be new important keys of the future.

The artwork was created during an August remembered for remarkable events in the sky—a solar eclipse, a partial lunar eclipse, a blood-colored Moon, and a full Moon. Those celestial moments inspired its name: August Moon. The characters 八月, read as Hachi Gatsu, meaning August, appear within the artwork alongside its English title.

As the puzzle comes together, words such as happiness, dreams, friendship, hope, joy, love, courage, kindness, wonder, peace, creativity, laughter, relaxation, healing, faith, success, and yourself offer quiet points for reflection.

This is more than a gathering of keys. It is a meditation on the many possible keys to happiness.
