Hoodie, Unisex | Meditations — On Zero & Null, Ep. 1

A sweet musing on the numbers that aren’t quite nothing — and not quite something.

Zero and Null seem like the same idea, but they’re not. Zero is a number — a placeholder, a value, a mathematical hero hiding in plain sight. Null is the absence of a value entirely. One says “I’m here and I’m nothing.” The other says “I’m not even here.”

It’s a subtle difference that programmers argue about and philosophers would love.
